New Postage Prices Effective May 14, 2007

Currently, postage prices are based only on weight. Starting May 14, price will vary based on weight and shape. Mail is categorized into one of three shapes: letter, flat or parcel.

Letter = an item less than 3.5 ounces, smaller than 6 1/8” by 11.5” and less than 1/4” thick.

Flat= an item less than 13 ounces, between 6 1/8” by 11.5” inches and 10” by 13” and less than 3/4” thick.

Parcel = any mail weighing more than 13 ounces, larger than 10” by 13” or thicker than 3/4”.

Postage for letters of 1 ounce or less will be $.41 and will cost $.17 for every additional ounce. Letters weighing 3.5 ounces or less will be $.92.

Postage for flats of 1 ounce or less will be $.80 and will cost an additional $.17 for every additional ounce up to 13 ounces.

Postage for parcels of 1 ounce or less will be $1.13 and an additional $.17 for every additional ounce up to 13 ounces.
