Hope in Transition
Your financial support of NACBA supports Hope in Transition.
Losing your job is not an easy experience. Not sure? Just ask the many association members who have gone through the experience. Whether it is because of the economy or disagreement with a senior pastor or church leadership, the pain and transitions are real.
David Conley who has been blogging about his job loss and transition says, “Job loss is a similar life-altering event to a death in your family or a divorce. It is among one of the highest stress producing situations. A typical cycle one may experience is denial, anger, frustration and eventually adaptation. When you lose a job and experience these feelings you are not alone, nor are you the only one to ever experience them. You may lose not only your sense of identity, but also a major source of income for you and your family.”
As one response the Board of Directors and staff of The Church Network seek to serve those within our membership who have lost their jobs or may be in jeopardy of losing their jobs. Membership support and the possibility of a mentor/coach to walk with the individual is possible.
If you know of members who have lost/left their positions or you are in this situation and you would like us to know, please contact the National Office.
The Church Network JobCenter is available and free to anyone to post a resume.
Quotes and Scripture
For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-6
We find by losing. We hold fast by letting go. We become something new by ceasing to be something old….Out of each old self that dies some precious essence is preserved for the new self that is born; and within the child-self that is part of us all, there is perhaps nothing more precious than the fathomless capacity to trust. Frederick Buechner
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God. Psalm 42:11
There are times when God chooses to solve our problems for us, there are occasions when God offers to solve our problems with us, and there are times when God gives us the strength to endure. John Claypool
